THE Chief Justice of the Republic of Zambia, Justice Dr.Mumba Malila has called on lawyers to exhibit the highest level of professionalism as they offer legal services as well as ensuring that they fight against corruption in the legal fraternity saying “a good name is better than riches”.
Speaking earlier, the Law Association of Zambia President, Abyudi James Shonga expressed happiness at this year’s attendance, further stating that the Association had earlier this year launched a pro bono facility that will see the less privileged provided in society provided with access to legal services.

And a renowned Constitutional law expert, Prof Muna Ndulo emphasized the need for the Constitutional review process to be clearly defined. He further paid tribute to the role the media networks play in the constitution making process as they encourage stakeholder engagement. He added that the constitution making process needs to be inclusive, consultative and must be time bound.

The Zambia Law Development Commission (ZLDC) was part of the delegates gathered at Avani Victoria Falls Resort Hotel in Livingstone for the 9th Annual Law Conference being held by the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) under the theme ‘The Role of Lawyers in Advancing the Laws as an Instrument for Economic Growth, Social Order and Justice”.
