The Zambia Law Development Commission handed over the Project Report on the review of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes (Amendment) Bill to the Ministry of Technology and Science at a colourful handover ceremony held at the Le Elementos Hotel in Lusaka.
Gracing the handover ceremony was Dr. Bright Habeenzu, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Technology and Science who led other invited stakeholders in witnessing the unveiling of the Project Report and Draft Bill.
Representing the Chairperson of the Zambia Law Development Commission Madam Justice Ruth Chibbabbuka in handing over the project report to the Ministry of Technology and Science was ZLDC Commissioner Emmanuel Sibongo.
In May 2023, the Ministry of Technology and Science engaged the Zambia Law Development Commission to review and develop the draft Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Bill.
The Commission undertook Stakeholder consultative meetings across the country and conducted a desk study to inform it’s recommendations and findings.
